The Fast and the Furious actor Paul Walker has died in a car crash in Southern California. His publicist confirmed the news that the 40-year-old was a passenger in a friend’s car when it crashed in the city of Santa Clarita on Saturday evening. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said both people were killed in the accident in Valencia. Walker and his friend had been attending a charity event when tragedy struck. The actor was best known for his roles in the Fast and the Furious franchise, playing law enforcement official Brian O’Connor, which also starred Vin Diesel. In a post on Instagram, Diesel said: “Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace.” Walker’s other films included “Timeline”, “Into the Blue”, “The Lazarus Project”, and “Hours”, which is pencilled in for release in December. Report by Sarah Kerr.
