7 People Shot At Video Release Party For 13-Year Old Chicago Rapper Lil Mouse

Chicago police say a shooting at a South Side club that sent seven people to hospitals appears to be gang-related.

It took place early today at Mr. G’s Supper Club and Entertainment Center, 1547 West 87th Street.

The scene after the shooting was described as chaotic, with people running for the door, hiding under tables, and trying to hide in the bathroom as gunfire flew across the busy club right after a concert.

Chicago police say three gunmen opened fire inside the club a little after 1 a.m., hitting seven people. A club employee tells WGN it stemmed from a fight outside the club that continued inside.

Patrons were watching a rap concert with local artists Lil Mouse and King Samson.

Six men and a woman ranging in age from 19 to 36 years old were injured. Six of the victims took themselves to area hospitals. One was transported by ambulance. It appears all the shooting victims are going to be okay.

It is not clear what sparked the shooting.

Police say it does appear the shooting was gang-related. Right now they have no suspects in custody.

Mr. G’s Supper Club and Entertainment Center issued a statement that reads in part: “Our establishment is deeply saddened concerning the senseless incident which initiated on the exterior of our building after hours. We ask that the general public join us in praying for the victims of this cowardly act. We also have pledged our full and complete cooperation with the Chicago Police Department in its investigation of this matter.”
