Michelle Jenneke did a little dance and stole the spotlight from other hurdlers who are Olympic hopefuls, such as her fellow Australian Sally Pearson. And now she’s being asked to pose nude because of a viral video of her pre-race warm-up.
The act of popular athletes stripping down is certainly nothing new—swimmer Amanda Beard and figure skater Katarina Witt are two Olympic athletes who have posed for Playboy.
There’s no word on if Hugh Hefner has contacted Michelle just yet, but there is one website willing to cough up cash to get Michelle to bare it all.
She became an internet sensation because of her racy pre-race dance routine at the IAAF World Junior Championship in Barcelona last week. Michelle’s warm-up routine consisted of a lot of hip-shaking and bouncing around, and the beautiful brunette’s bright smile also added to her s*x appeal. The website s*x.com is hoping to cash in on her newfound fame by making a “sizeable donation” to the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) if she will agree to pose nude for the website.
It seems highly unlikely that Michelle would agree to the deal, especially since she won’t be getting any cash herself. Track and Field athletes don’t make much money off of their sports unless they can get lucrative endorsement deals, so perhaps Michelle would be more likely to accept such an offer if she was getting paid. But maybe s*x.com isn’t offering her money because if would violate ASC rules.
A s*x.com rep told XBIZ this about the website’s offer:
“She’s the right amount of cute and sexy, not to mention her body is clearly in peak condition. Michelle Jenneke has shown a s*x appeal that’s uncommon in female athletes and we want Michelle to know that she can use her sexuality to not only raise her profile but also benefit athletes all over her country.”
It’s a little sad that men feel the need to constantly sexualize women no matter what career path they choose, but obviously some female athletes don’t mind it. In addition to all of the athletes who have posed nude in the pages of Playboy, there are countless others who haven’t bared as much in other men’s mags like FHM, Maxim, and GQ—Gina Carano, Anna Kournikova, and Maria Sharapova are just a few of the many female athletes who have posed for sexy photo shoots. So if Michelle wants to join them by sexing herself up, maybe a non-nude spread in a men’s mag would be a good way to go.
But if she’s brave enough to bare it all, then more power to her.
