Lil Wayne defended his decision to pull Nicki Minaj out of Summer Jam 2012 by saying he felt that women should never be disrespected. Weezy was referring to comments Hot 97 on air personality Peter Rosenberg made about Nicki’s song “Starships” the day of the concert.

“That’s a female; first and foremost Nicki Minaj is a female,” Wayne said backstage at Birthday Bash 17 in Atlanta. “I don’t know what anyone else believes, but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times, no matter when or where or how.”

Rosenberg fired back at the Young Money CEO by playing some of his lyrics that don’t seem to be showing females a lot of the respect he was referring to.
