Jay-Z was in a really great mood Monday (September 26) when he sat down with Fox 5’s “Good Day New York” to announce a name change for the New Jersey Nets basketball team.

We’ve decided that the final name would be the Brooklyn Nets,” said Hov, who is a minority owner in the team. “I’m giddy right now.”

The team will be moving into Barclays Center arena in Brooklyn next year. To celebrate Hov will be performing eight shows at the 18,000 seat venue.

I’m going to open the building with a couple of concerts… maybe like eight,” Jay said.
