Police in Los Angeles had been searching for 46-year-old Valentino Rodriguez Jr since he removed his GPS tracking device on Monday, KTLA reported.
But the parolee approached a television news reporter to say he wanted to turn himself in to police.
“(I wanted to) do the appropriate thing and man up about it,” he said in the live TV interview.
“I was paranoid, sir, and basically I got scared Ã¢â‚¬â€ and I cut it off.
“God had told me to do the right thing, and I was feeling suicidal when I was on the streets.”
Rodriguez said he was “roaming the streets” for three days after he cut off his tracking device with scissors.
Californian police are also searching for a 41-year-old s*x offender who cut off his ankle monitor and fled
